Getting rid of "Visit {truncated name of some recently visited website}"
In one of the recent updates, the URL Address line suddenly suggests in grey color and as first option "Visit" - and then a recently visited site. I find that EXTREMELY irritating. Any way to get rid of that nuisance?
TIA, Luis

You can set browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete to false to remove the Visit page suggestion from the location bar drop down list.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

This solution worked fine in the previous Mozilla update. But since the forced Firefox update I had today (48.0) this solution no longer works. Whether the option is set to false or not (browser restarted) the Visit results show up either way. This is becoming quite frustrating, since the toggle worked on the previous versions.
browser.urlbar.unifiedcomplete was deprecated in Firefox 48.0.
Hello,
Thank you very much for your reply. Do you know if there is another option to deactivate the "Visit" results from constantly appearing or if there is a workaround?
Thank you
Does any one know any other way to disable the "Visit" results?
Has anyone found another way to disable this? It's annoying as hell and I don't want it.
Try this UserStyle: https://userstyles.org/styles/122394/url-bar-tweaks-remove-visit-search-scroll-bar
BTW, posting in a "Solved" thread isn't the best idea; these threads tend to get forgotten or ignored once they are solved.
