I uninstalled Chrome and made Firefox my default browser. It kept not sticking and kept asking me to make FF my default. Windows 10 had trouble doing that on the new settings panel for default. There stayed a big + sign for browser default whether I clicked either Firefox or Edge. I was finally able to make Firefox default via the Control Panel.

Problem - the desktop and in folders it still shows the Chrome icon. The shortcut does open Firefox. In properties for an icon I see Firefox. I can change icon one at a time in properties. How do I change them all to Firefox? Reinstall FF?

It seems Windows 10 has a problem, related at least. You cannot change browser default via settings. I could remove the prior default, but not add any new one. You can if you use the old Control Panel. Somethings sure not right. I'll let Windows Community know when their site is back up (yes, it is down!)
