I cannot forward emails in HTML apparently. Only text is forwarded
I receive some very good emails with text and pictures (cartoons). I like to forward them now and then. Whenever I do there is text only that arrives and the destination. I have searched for how to set up HTML in a email and have found some useless advice from 2006. Theoretically it was possible to send a message as HTML by pushing the shift key when hitting the write option. The process did not compute in the new version of Tbird.

Funny Shift works just fine for me.
My default compose is HTML. that looks like this
I hold shift and I go into text compose. It looks like this.
Given I am using the latest daily build and you say the advise was issued back in 2006. I would say that if it is not working for you you are doing it wrong.
But I think this is all academic, I am guessing you are receiving corruptly built emails from certain Microsoft products. These display in Thunderbird, but the images in them are poorly encoded and do no translate in the forward process. Does it work any better in the new Version 45.
I used your email as an example and forwarded to myself using the shift key and without the shift key. It works as you said. I have taken to sending the emails in question as attachments and that works. Thanks for the help.

My problem is very similar but I can't work out how to forward emails because if I hit FWD the email pops up onto the new page but if I hit FWD +SHIFT I get the new page but then can't FWD. Any help please. Scuz
