After computer crash, tried to re-install emails into Thunderbird; for two of them, kept getting "Configuration could not be verified, etc."

After my computer crashed, I tried to re-install emails. But two critical ones, using the same information as before, kept displaying "... Configuration could not be verified - is the user name or password wrong? ..." The emails are both Gmail and the information used was as they were both originally listed in the Thunderbird Address Book, so how can I over-ride this problem and re-install those two email addresses? (they're two of the most used for private & business)

Did you try to set up the accounts using the 'new account' wizard? If so it may be using default settings that are different from those you had in the older installation. There's an article here with helpful links to Gmail: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/thunderbird-and-gmail Also a more detailed one here with the settings you will need: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Using_Gmail_with_Thunderbird_and_Mozilla_Suite
