In Tbird 45.0 after i press send, a couple of words are introduced into the top of the email. These words are not there in my sent mail copy of my email, but when i (or others) receive the email, there are some words in the top of the email.

These words totally distract and make a mess. They appear to be selected from the email or from the clipboard (i am using flycut).

On Mac OSX Yosemite 10.10.5

My work around is to send emails with "----email begin, ignore all text above ----"

Actual example, the words 'Freud's nephew' and a blank line above were introduced by T-bird 45.0:

Freud's nephew

email begin, ignore all text above ----

Got a clue into the problem. The last 2 words of the subject line were inserted into the email in my case. The subject line was: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: mind control since Freud's nephew

Maybe the subject line is too long?

If you have recently upgraded Thunderbird and didn't have this problem before, then it's most likely caused by an old version of an add-on. Try disabling your add-ons one by one to see if you can narrow it down; then remove it, restart Thunderbird, and install the latest version of the add-on.

I don't believe i have any add-ons. Is there a way to see my add-ons? Maybe because i don't ...

I had a couple of extensions - lightning and flash and have disabled them, but don't believe the problem is solved. Hard to reproduce without sending to the group i am interacting with.

You could try restarting Thunderbird in safe mode and simply sending a test message to yourself. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird

Thanks, i have sent 50 messages to myself between 2 accounts, but it is only when i send mail to an email list that this happens.

Tried "Re: Re: Re: ..." and other long subjects.

Will try safe mode next. Thanks for the tips.

Thanks @amanchesterman that worked. Safe mode sending mail to a group did not result in truncated title inside email.

The only solution i can see is to keep using Tbird is safe mode.
