I was running a mac desktop under Yosemite and I have migrated to a new Linux machine running Ubuntu 16.04. Thunderbird works fine. I have exported my e-mails to an mbox package. I have copied it and placed it on my linux machine. Now I need to figure out how to import those e-mails (if possible) into my thunderbird program. How do I do this?

Thunderbird email storage format is mbox. There is no point exporting it to mbox (however you did do that).

You can install this add-on for importing mbox files. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/
