Opening the app deletes the content in emails in inbox when last closed. Email account is a POP3 and the other Repair options don't work.

Recently this keeps happening a couple of times per week: start up Thunderbird and the emails that were in my inbox have had all of their content deleted. The only way to get it back is to go into my phone or iPad and forward them back to myself. Sometimes the messages are totally blank, some are code, some are actually messages from other emails. The Repair options just made things worse and deleted everything. The email account is a company email POP3 account.
