Hi,

I have been facing problem when Thunderbird kept prompting that my password incorrect. I reset my password and entered correct password. It didn't help. I removed the account and set it up again. When I select POP3 mail, the system prompted me "configuration could not be verified - password wrong". When I go back to select IMAP, I'm able to successfully setup the account. What's wrong? I have no problem with my 2nd hotmail account set up in Thunderbird.

I believe that Outlook.com, which now includes Hotmail accounts, has dropped support for POP. I haven't seen any announcements so i don't know if it's intentional. My own POP-connected Hotmail account stopped working and only resumed when I replaced it with an IMAP-connected account. I wouldn't bank on your working Hotmail account doing so for very much longer. Microsoft started downplaying POP when Windows 8 came out.
