I want to make a copy of my bookmarks as an HTLM file while leaving the original list on my computer before upgrading to Windows 10. I want to save the new HTLM copy/file on my external hard disk. I read instructions of how to export the bookmarks as an HTLM file but it isn't clear to me if this is a copy or doing this will erase my bookmarks from my computer. Could someone clarify this for me? I work from home and my bookmarks are an integral part of my job.

Hi, your existing bookmarks will not be deleted. I do it every few weeks myself - just in case!

Note: If you use Backup - which saves them as a JSON file, instead of HTML, and then wish to restore them, any existing bookmarks will be overwritten.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
