Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile.
Thanks Fred. What a great tool. Unfortunately I can not find the name of the folder so that I can eliminate the others. The contents of course are show but again, no folder name for this profile. Ron
Aha, Fred I worked backwards in Windows Explorer and found the folder with the profile and deleted the other profile. The folder is: jkgfpck5.default-1462939813005. However, a folder by this same name exists under AppData\Local and also under AppData/Roaming and they contain different contents all of which are beyond me. The contents in the Roaming folder are much more extensive. Do I need both. Can anyone explain how this works and why two profiles?
Firefox uses two locations for the Firefox profile folder. Location used for the main profile in "AppData\Roaming".
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
Location used for the disk cache (see about about:cache) and other temporary files in "AppData\Local".
- C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:
- Help > Troubleshooting Information > Profile Directory:
Windows: Show Folder; Linux: Open Directory; Mac: Show in Finder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox
