When I updated Mozilla Firefox there was also installed Video Download Converter by Mu Way. I didn't ask for this and don't want it. When I enter Firefox this video thing comes on first and I don't get Firefox's opening page. I can't find a way to uninstall this video thing. Why was it also installed and how do I get rid of it?

hi, no genuine firefox update will install such crappy additions. this rather looks like an issue with malware on your system, so please perform all these steps:

  1. download and install the latest version of firefox from https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/
  2. refresh firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
  3. afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
  4. finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.
