Why do I have to click on links to see the content of some of my emails?

Some emails have no text at all, though I'm able to see the content on my smartphone. Some offer links to relevant pages.

Here is a sample of one with links only: "We apologize, but your email client does not allow you to view HTML emails, please visit the following page to see the newsletter:"
