What can I do if Firefox disables an installed add-on?
We have oracle smartview and the extension in mozilla is disabled. It says unsigned addon couldn't be enabled. PFA document.
We dodn't find any other addon which will replace the smart view extension. Not sure how to get the signed one.
If anyone can help us we will be grateful.

satish

Hi satish, to learn Oracle's plans for its add-on, you'll need to check their site or contact their support.
Firefox 43+ requires that extensions be digitally signed by Mozilla. This article has more information: Add-on signing in Firefox.
If no updates are available for an extension you can't live (browse) without, you could make a temporary global exception to the signing requirement. Unfortunately, there's currently no way to only make an exception for specific extensions and therefore you need to be vigilant about bad add-ons creeping in if you do this.
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste xpin and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the xpinstall.signatures.required preference to switch it from true to false -- note that unless something changes, this is for Firefox 43-47 only
Thanks for reply I know how to tweak the signature as u have suggested but I want a permanent solution to roll out the changes globally rather then tweaking individual user machine browser.
Please share the steps to be followed to get digital sign on add-on.
Hi satish, I suggest asking on the Add-ons forum here: https://discourse.mozilla-community.org/c/add-ons
