unable to delete reminders from Thunderbird

I have reminders for a day but when I try to delete they never get deleted. Message keeps coming up to snooze or dismiss. Click on dismiss all but they still remain.

that sounds like what happens when read only ical or ICS files are added to Thunderbird. A common source is outlook.com
