What exactly is the problem? Downloading the Thunderbird installer using a browser? Then ask in a support forum for your browser.

In any case, make sure to always download Thunderbird from https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird/

Turns out the problem was not with Thunderbird but my internet service provider. Thanks.
