Is there a setting to automatically delete email attachments when the email is deleted?

I converted from Eudora. In Eudora Tools, you could choose whether the program would automatically delete attachments when you delete emails. I can't find such a setting in Thunderbird. Is it available somewhere?

As the attachment is a mime encoded part of the email then it is deleted with the email. Unlike some other mail clients, Thunderbird does not pull the email apart and store different parts in different locations. It stores it exactly as received.

Should you choose to use tools to extract attachments and place them somewhere you will also need to find tools to clean up the eventual mess that creates.
