Verison 45.4.0 Option does not appear to be working - clicking on the option and nothing happens. I have tried selected all messages in Inbox or just a single thread/conversation - it does not work. This function is why I don't use Gmail. I DISLIKE when it gathers gathers up the email conversation and makes it harder to track messages by date/time received. Is there anyway it can be turned off other than reverting to an older version of Thunderbird or another email client?

I have no idea what you are on about here, so I will guess.

View menu (alt+V) > sort by > unthreaded.

If however you are talking about the actual content of mesages. that is upto the individual sended with regards to them quoting the previos message or not of previous messages.

If you rally are trying to expand all threads, All you will see is a hng in the list view of threaded mail/Newsgroups where the list expands, the same as clicking the + beside the thread.
