I have got Cameras installing at my work place. Earlier I have got no problem with downloading the plug-in and opening the site to see all the cameras. However yesterday I reinstall windows and firefox again. Now I try clicking on the link to download the plug-in but nothing happen at all. (As of the picture below, normally when I click on "Please click here to download and install the plug-in. Close the browser when installing the plug-in." the plug-in should be downloaded)

However nothing happen now.

I try using other browser to download and install then in "Plugin", I choose "install add on from file", it said "This addon cannot be install because it appear to be corrupt" Below is the picture of the addon I downloaded (I try twice)

What must I do? PS. I try using "add images" below but it kept loading non stop for over 15 minutes already, so I try posting image in image hosting instead.

Hi ironbear,

If no shortcut for the 32-bit version was added automatically, you should be able to find it in a new menu entry for All programs, or you could create a shortcut from within a file explorer. The exe file you need for the 32-bit version of Firefox is here:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"

Right-click on the firefox.exe file and select "Create shortcut". You will probably be asked to create it on the desktop instead of within the current folder. If not, you can move it there manually.

Do the cameras work now and is your issue resolved?

Try downloading and installing the web components from here, as shown in this video.

Greeting Tonnes,

Thank you very much for your reply. I have download the file and install successfully into my PC already. However I still get the same message "Please click here to download and install the plug-in. Close the browser when installing the plug-in." Do I need to setup anything to make it run on firefox?

Hi, sorry for late reply.

I’m not familiar with your setup nor the Hikvision cameras and plugins. However, I think clicking the plugin link is similar to downloading the file from the link above, as you can see in the video, but maybe this video is a better example. That means when you installed the web components, you should be set up.

You appear to be using a 64-bit Firefox on a 64-bit Windows system right now, and maybe you used a 32-bit Windows system and (or at least) a 32-bit browser previously? Although the file name for the web components may look like it’s for 64-bit, I find that hard to believe considering the age and support.

Have you tried installing the 32-bit version of Firefox? You can have it installed for using cameras and keep the 64-bit version installed, which is not unusual for camera setups. You can download it from here.

Also see the How to switch from 32-bit to 64-bit Firefox article. The 32-bit version is the "Windows" link.

Hi Tonnes,

Sorry for late reply. After installing the Firefox for 32-bit Windows system and it auto run up, I can finally click on the link to install the program.

After finish installing I quit firefox and reopen again. However there is only 1 firefox icon on the desktop and it kept opening the 64-bit version (since I can't click on the link again). How do I switch using between 32 and 64 bit version?
