My addons don't show up in search bar. How can I make them visible?

When I turn computer on, the add ons that I downloaded in a previous session do not all show up on search bar. So I have to download them again and again. How do I make them always be in the search toolbar? Also, I downloaded the Addon Bar (Restored) but that doesn't show up either. Thank you for your help.

I have Windows 10, and Firefox 50 and search engine is Yahoo.

If an icon is left in the menu box instead of on the search bar does it still work?

As long as you can reach the icon, it should work.

Also I am confused about all the different names tool bars go by, such as location, search, address, etc.

Address, search and so on are all located on the toolbar. Sometimes the bar with the web address is called the address bar. Some users have more than one toolbar and move the search box to it (giving more room all around). And it gets called the search bar.

What add-ons are you talking about? Have you looked here;

Type about:customizing<enter> in the address bar. In the new window, look for the icon. When you find it, hold down the left button on it, and move it to where you want it to be. You can move any of the icons you want from here, but some icons are locked in place.

There is also a Restore Defaults button at the bottom middle.

the addons are from the menu, customize page. Some are Adblock Ultimate, Yahoo Mail, Facebook icon, font size, HTTPS Everywhere. When I shut down my laptop at night and then start it up next morning, most of those icons are not shown, so I have to go to the Menu and Customize page and scroll and drag selected icons up to search bar.

Most of us call it the toolbar.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

When I went online this morning all of my icons that I had dragged up to the search bar yesterday were present! I don't know why or how but I hope they stay there! If an icon is left in the menu box instead of on the search bar does it still work?

   Also I am confused about all the different names tool bars go by, such as location, search, address, etc. How do I learn which are which?

Thank you for your help! I am going to shut down now and restart just to see if the icons all remain in the toolbar.
