I can not send email from my gmail address. It asks me for a password from a long ago gmail account that was deleted from Thunderbird and Google mail. This just started today 1/22/2017

Chosen solution

if it is asking, it is not deleted. But that in not uncommon. Most people delete the incoming account and completely ignore the outgoing server.

So go to the outgoing server (SMTP) in account settings and remove the account. But make sure you have one for your current accounts.
