I've been using the Right To Close plugin for years. With the release of Firefox v.52 and since, the right click menu remains up when the previous tab was closed by the plugin. It must be cleared using a left click.

Quite annoying change in behavior. I have also contacted the plugin author.

Anyone have any suggestions or another quick way to close tabs. I really miss just double right clicking anywhere on the page.

I usually close tabs using Ctrl+w, which should work unless a script in the page intercepts that keyboard shortcut.

If you have a scroll wheel or middle button on your mouse, "middle-clicking" on the tab (up on the tab bar) will close it.
