The current download of thunderbird has problems communicating with my isp. help!!

1) it takes thunderbird upto 90 secs to send and email and then it has trouble putting it in my sent box. sometimes not doing it until I cancel putting it in sent mail so I have to retry. Then it sends the msg and gives me a copy back. 2)Frequently I get a msg that the server has disconnected for some bloody reason and then reconnects and sends. 3)the problem with putting it in the sent mail folder gives me a msg "have trouble running it through the msg filters" even after i have disabled all filters including the thunderbird mdn whatever. It happens on all 5 of my email address's (gmail and brighthouse) occasionally but almost everytime on deplorable@brighthouse.com. HELP I'M ABOUT READY TO DUMP THUNDERBIRD. spooks
