When I updated Firefox to 54.0 I notice on the download icon it no longer displays the time left to complete when downloading a file. Can you bring that feature back on next update. It provided useful information to see progress status.

Others have reported issues with v54. I don't know why the icon stopped working, but try this;

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/download-status-bar/ Download Status Bar If you are the kind of person who likes to have total control over every aspect of your downloads, "Download Status Bar" is the add-on you are looking for.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
