When using the client send a email, the "send" button does nothing. Using the error control panel, I get the following message.

"An error occurred executing the cmd_sendButton command: [Exception... "[JavaScript Error: "nsPreferences is not defined" {file: "chrome://confirm-address/content/confirm-address.js" line: 170}]'[JavaScript Error: "nsPreferences is not defined" {file: "chrome://confirm-address/content/confirm-address.js" line: 170}]' when calling method: [nsIController::doCommand]" nsresult: "0x80570021 (NS_ERROR_XPC_JAVASCRIPT_ERROR_WITH_DETAILS)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://global/content/globalOverlay.js :: goDoCommand :: line 93" data: yes]"

I am on the current version of Thunderbird. All extensions are disabled.

If I try to use the "learn more", I get this message.

"TypeError: this.chromeUtilsWindow.openUILinkIn is not a function[Learn More]"

As I use IMAP, I decided to uninstall Thunderbird and reinstall it. Same issues.

Not sure what to do now. I would hate to go back to using Outlook.

Cheers.

Kevin

Do you have the Confirm-Address add-on installed and if so, can you try disabling it? According to that page, the add-on no longer seems to work with Thunderbird 52.2.1. You will need to notify the author, or look for and alternative add-on.

Side note: when running into trouble with Thunderbird or Firefox, reinstalling will not help in most cases, since program files are not affected and issues are most likely caused by the program’s profile (where add-ons also get installed in.) Running the program in Safe Mode instead will be the best step to find out of that’s the case.

/Edit: I just noticed you already disabled all extensions. It might be best to uninstall the add-on(s) instead.

Does this help?
