I use Firefox as my mail-reader, but if I receive mails in Norwegian, the special norwegian letters æ ø å is translated til lot of rubbish.

What post in a Thunderbird forum if your problem is Firefox?
Modified
Is there no help to get here? I use Mozilla Thunderbird, and when I receive emails containing the letters æ ø and å is not readable.
What do you see in place of these letters?
I presume you are set to use a font and character set in Thunderbird that works correctly in other programs? And that you have not set Thunderbird to impose any specific encoding?
Can you repair these messages by use of the options under View|Text Encoding in the menu?
Do you use Firefox? If so, do you have similar issues there?
I get: Ã¥ være her før This should be: å være her før
It is ok when I use outlook and google mail
I have chosen Text encoding' to be VESTLIG.

Yes, when I change to Unicode the letters are ok. But next time I read mail, it is changed back to VESTLIG again?
