I have set up a master password on my Thunderbird email so that I get a prompt at startup to enter the password. However if you just click Cancel 3 times you have immediate access to all my emails. What should happen is that if Cancel is clicked the application should just close down. I have 3 email accounts in the Thunderbird so that is probably why clicking Cancel 3 times gets rid of the password prompt? PC running Thunderbird 52.2.1 (32-bit) under Windows 7 PRO

As you can see the master password protects passwords. Not mail.

OK thanks Matt. I was just wanting to use it as a gatekeeper so that the application wouldn't even open without the master password and therefore preventing access to my emails.
