You may be in permanent private browsing mode - would you please check this setting :
3-bar menu (or 'Tools') => Options => Privacy => under 'History' : choose 'Use custom settings for history' and make sure that 'Always use private browsing mode' is unchecked.

Note: Windows 8 and Windows 10 have built-in flash players and Adobe will cause a conflict. Install the plugin only. Not the ActiveX.

I tried already, it still doesn't work.

Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promise to be careful, if asked) Type and search for the preference : signon.rememberSignons the value should be set to true
Try to rename/remove the key3.db and logins.json and possible signons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.
You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
