Thunderbird Master Password no longer working, I haven't been able to fix it using several (internet) suggestions. How do I proceed ? Need common language, step by step guidance; I'm pretty much computer language illiterate.

There is a useful article on passwords and the Master Password in particular:

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/protect-your-thunderbird-passwords-master-password

It gives the slightly arcane process for resetting your master password, but do note that doing this also clears all the passwords stored in Thunderbird.
