I imported an SSL certificate, which accidentally was categorized by Firefox as a security device certificate. And, although Firefox lets me delete it from the "Certificate Manager", it doesn't actually delete it. It looks as though it is deleted, but closing the certificate manager and then re-opening it, shows that it is still there.

Note: Some software, like Advanced SystemCare with Surfing Protection, can protect files in the Firefox profile folder against changes. If you have such software then check the settings or uninstall this software.

Try to rename/remove the cert8.db file in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page.
