I don't know how to do a "safe mode". But I tried disabling various add-ons. I thought it was No-Script, but the results were sporadic. Then, being a person who has delt with the incredible insanity of the computer world for decades, it of course occurred to me to disable the YouTube Flash and HTML5 player. So I turned the YouTube Flash/HTML player off, and now YouTube Flash and HTML5 work. I should have known.

hello, can you try to replicate this behaviour when you launch firefox in safe mode once? if not, maybe an addon is interfering here...
