I've tried to turn on tracking protection as per instructions but the setting doesn't save and tracking protection stays off.

The tracking protection on Firefox is now turned off and I can't seem to get it to stay turned on. It used to operate but about a week ago it stopped working. How do I fix it?

Tracking Protection is usually only enabled by default in Private Browsing mode. If you want to use it in normal mode then you need to toggle the related pref yourself on the about:config page.

  • privacy.trackingprotection.enabled = true

You can set this pref to true on the about:config page to see more Tracking Protection choices in "Options/Preferences".

  • privacy.trackingprotection.ui.enabled
