This started yesterday (I'm using Win10 Pro). When I highlight the Mozilla icon on my desktop & hit enter, a small Firefox icon appears at the bottom of my desktop. Scrolling over it shows that the browser is open, but I can't get it to maximize. I've tried "unpinning" it, and reinstalling, but the same small icon appears at the bottom of my desktop. How can I fix this problem to regain my favorite browser & my sanity? Thank you...

Please consider turning on send info to Mozilla before posting a question. This helps us help you. As I have no info from your system that would help see things that cause issues.

Just to be on the safe side please update your graphic card drivers. Bad drivers can create a range of different problems.

You mention uninstall so lets go with that again. Please turn off any extensions you may have. Then please uninstall Firefox. Delete all Mozilla Firefox folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) then reboot.

When return run Windows Disk Cleanup and clear all Temp folders. Then run it again and this time click button Cleanup System Files.

Reinstall Firefox 56.0.2 from a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/ See how it runs then start turning on Extensions 1 at a time, each time restarting Firefox. If have a issue with one remove it.

If still continued issues it maybe a Profile issue and a new one needs to be created.

Note : Firefox 57 Quantum release date Nov 14th https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/quantum/ Note : Legacy Extensions will be disabled and or removed.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
