Why can't I just have a big fat Firefox logo and a search block?
I use the Firefox Browser for my Home Page. Why can't I just have a big fat Firefox logo and a search box?
Chosen solution
Same old, same old - It's good. I have a clean page, with a search box, but no logo. I can handle that.

Hi
If you wish to change the default homepage to a search engine page of your choice, I recommend that you type about:preferences in the address bar and set the page of your choice as your homepage.
Hi !
In case the above doesn't do the trick, you could try this :
Type in the address bar about:config (press Enter) (promist to be careful, if asked)
Type in the search bar and look for the preferences:
browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.aboutHome.enabled
and set its values to false
Then close and restart Firefox.
Great stuff, but I couldn't find:browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.aboutHome.enabled without something eifferent on the ending and the value of True. When I tried to change it to false, I ended up somewhere else. Anyway, I never got the logo. I have eliminated all of the advertising, for which I am happy. I still would like the logo.
Thanks 112 Happy for the help, just the same. Bud
Hi, open the 3-bar menu > Options (General), then delete anything in 'Home Page' and type (or copy and paste) about:home
If you want to see that when Firefox starts, make sure that 'When Firefox starts' is set to 'Show your home page.'
If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you!
Seburo, good idea, but what do I call the page of my choice. What I want is the old Firefox Browser page, a logo and a search block. I don't know how to search for, or ask for that.
Thanks for your help.
Bud
Thanks, Scribe. It didn't work, because when I typed in about:home, at the stroke of the final "e" the whole phrase disappeared, every time. I still don't have the logo.
Nice try. Bud

This (see screenshot) is what it should look like - you see 'something different on the ending' ?

Hmm, don't know what's happening there. Try typing about:home into the address bar and press Enter - that should open the page you want, then open Options (General), delete anything in 'Home Page' and click on 'Use Current Pages.'

This (see screenshot) is what you want, though, and you should be able to get that by changing the preference in about:config ......
Thanks to everybody, Happy 12 and Scribe, in particular. I have what I wanted and am happy.
