How to remove Firefox-Logo fav-icon from empty tab?

more options

I updated from firefox 52 to 57. An empty tab was easy to find in the tab bar because there was no fav icon. I use firefox windows for different contexts and i always keep an empty tab open to start something. I also use empty tabs to seperate tab groups within a window. Now with 57 empty tabs look like i have an Firefox or Mozilla.org page open. This is very irritating. How can i disable the icon? When this should be an option the best place for it is in the menu to configure what should be seen on an empty page, where i always disable everything.

Thank you for your answer. But it didn't help. But i found an option that does. I deactivated the activity stream.

1. Open Mozilla Firefox and type about:config in the addressbar and press Enter. It'll show you a warning message, click on "I accept the risk!" button.

2. Now type onboard in Search filter box and it'll show some result in the window.

3. Double-click on browser.onboarding.enabled preference and it'll change its value to false. Alternatively, you can right-click on the preference and select Toggle option.
