When following directions on this page:"https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-clear-firefox-cache#w_automatically-clear-the-cache", FF will not accept a check mark in the "Clear history when FF closes" field. Am I missing something?

I would think that has not been updated in some time. All addons that could do that are no longer compatible.

No just a glitch in the update or the install. 2 ways to try. Both may work. Will give less messy first.

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.1 with a Full Version Installer https://www.mozilla.org/firefox/all/

and/or

Please : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer and https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles then https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profile-manager-create-and-remove-firefox-profiles

You can edit out some of the above as probably not a Extension issue. Both back ups are wise. Skip the make new profile for now.

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
