Reset / Refresh does save bookmarks and passwords, but that process can run for a long time with no "progress indicator" showing that it is running and how far along the process is towards completion.

The first time I did that procedure I got tired of waiting and thought that Firefox was "hung"; so I closed Firefox by killing the process via the Windows Task Manager which was a big mistake. Lost everything in my Profile; the data getting sent to the new, refreshed Profile is held in RAM and killing Firefox deletes the data in RAM. Fortunately I made a backup of my Profile beforehand and was able to recover all my data manually.

Is that what happened to you? i.e., manually killing firefox.exe before the the Refresh was completed
