I downloaded the new version of Firefox, but it is no supported by my mac book pro 10.7.5, and now my old Firefox is gone. So I would like to retrieve all of the bookmarks I had on my older version. And is it possible to download an older version of Firefox?

Chosen solution

The last stable releases for MacOS X 10.7 and 10.8 were:

  • Firefox 48.0.2, on August 24, 2016
  • Firefox Extended Support Release 45.9.0, on April 19, 2017

If you don't need any of the features added in Firefox 46-48, then 45.9.0 is your best choice (most up-to-date).

http://archive.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/releases/45.9.0esr/mac/

That lists all the available languages/locales. If you're not sure which one is the best fit, check the address bar when you're on this site and the auto-detected locale should be part of the URL (just after support.mozilla.org/).

Please make a backup of your profile folder first before installing. These articles should help get you to the correct location:

Inside your profile folder, the bookmarkbackups folder has compressed backups of your bookmarks. If Firefox 45 couldn't read compressed backups, you can use a tool on my website to convert them to another format: https://www.jeffersonscher.com/res/bookbackreader.html
