On my provider home page, (WOW), Firefox intermittently blocks video content. I have tried numerous fixes from the help menu including flash, enabling various content options, etc. to no success. I have tried the various videos in Microsoft Edge with no problem. This started after the new Firefox update. When I click on the video caption some background image displays for just a fraction of a second and then goes black and then this text appears,"Sorry your browser has blocked our content playback". It only happens intermittently which makes it almost impossible to figure out why.

The System Details list show you have Adblock Plus.

Is that extension blocking this content?

You can consider uBlock Origin as a replacement for Adblock Plus to see if that works better (lower memory footprint).

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block (wanted) content (e.g. Adblock Plus, NoScript, Ghostery, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block (wanted) content.

  • make sure your extensions and filters are updated to the latest version
