For couple of months Firefox has frozen my whole laptop every time I try to use it. I can't get you any logs from the browser, because the second I try to start Firefox, the whole computer freezes and is unresponsive till I force shutdown it and reboot it. I've removed Firefox from my laptop (win7) and downloaded and installed it again for few times, today too (the latest version). The same thing happens every time, it makes my laptop freeze. I loved Firefox but now it's totally useless for me or even worse, making me force shut down on laptop. I'm using F-Secure Internetsecurity, but I didn't change any settings. Other browsers are working just fine.

Chosen solution

What's your computer system and Firefox version?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

I too have this problem on my desktop PC and my laptop. Both systems are running the latest version of Windows 10. I have had to stop using FIrefox because of this problem. Other browsers are fine.

ian_arnold, Have you tried Firefox Safe Mode?

Safe mode seems OK (so far). I was running Adblock Plus, LastPass and Panel view for Google Translate. I have permanently disabled them all except LastPass which has become too useful to live without. I'll try it like that for a while. By the way, starting FIrefox with the shift key pressed doesn't start in safe mode. I had to do it from the help menu. Thank you for the suggestion.
