Something on my computer means that when using Firefox and following links on websites I am taken to a string of sites for foreign brides, porn or other trash. Trying to click back, I am taken through more sites although sometimes this will end and I get back to where I want to be. Other times I end up with a fake "download Firefox Update 57.0" which I can only escape by using task manage to kill my session. I am running AdBlocker Ultimate but it does not stop this. What else should I try?

Hi  !

That must be pretty annoying  !

Instead of Adblocker Ultimate, you could consider uBlock Origin :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/

And also (to be on the safe side) run the malware scans that are listed in this article :
