This may be related to Malwarebytes and Firefox 64-bit on Windows, see this question for more.

Quick reply: either enable Exploit Protection in MalwareBytes if you run it, or uninstall Firefox 64-bit and reinstall Firefox 32-bit for now.

Not running Malwarebytes. MS Security essentials.

SFC scan was error free. Disabled all extensions. Ran in safe mode. Did reinstall. Did not to a complete installation because I don't want to lose bookmarks etc.

Nothing helps.

Crashes on exit only. Twice for some reason.

Ya I run Malwarebytes and have no issues so can not see that as a issue.

uninstall Firefox. Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders in C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files(x86) Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. (Note: This should be Pinned and run Weekly) Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Note: your Firefox Profile is saved. But you should make a back up before you do :

Reinstall with Current Release Firefox 57.0.2 with a Full Version Installer

If still having a Issue : See Creating a profile :

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Are you saying 32-bit Firefox crashes too?

more options

Haven't tried installing the 32-bit version. Just started working through Pkshadow's suggestions but that's going to take alot of time.

On a lark, I tried to create and use a new profile. Still crashes on exit. I deleted the new profile.

I noticed that there are a few updates available from Dell for this machine. I think I'll get those installed before I get any deeper into this.

TIA to you and Pk for your kind assistance. Merry Christmas.
