When visiting http://www.youtube.com/ the newest firefox (v "57.0.4 (64-bit)") displayed a popup asking what to do about a document request from the site, I used the block this request option (I don't know the exact wording because I don't know how to get the popup back) and youtube loaded normally. After doing this every time I visited the site, I finally just chose the option to block all requests. Now youtube does not load at all. I do not see an error message (does firefox have an error log?). Please tell me how to undo the block.

Your Profile where everything you like is saved in compressed java. Do this 1st : *https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/export-firefox-bookmarks-to-backup-or-transfer then know what and where :

Start work :

you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

It's not a error when you created the problem by rejecting everything.

Go to the icon in the Address Bar with the i in a circle and Click then Click the Arrow then More Information then Permissions give back basic only permissions like set cookies and stuff, do not give them Camera or stuff.

Copy/Paste about:preferences#privacy into the Address Bar then Enter Go down to Permissions and check all Settings and give what you think back or not. TEST Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

The circle-i icon would be the what I want to use, but when I attempt to go to the site the tab stays at "New Tab" and does not display the icon. Probably I shall need to edit some data file directly to fix this. What file do I edit?

Can you access the site using a secure address: https://www.youtube.com/ ?

Where did you get the prompt? For example:

  • a bar appeared between the toolbar area and the top of the page and on the right end it had a button that said Options or Allow -- this generally covers pop-up windows and redirects
  • a little panel dropped from the left end of the address bar -- this covers permissions like using your camera/microphone, sharing your location, and displaying notifications
  • a separate dialog popped up over the page -- this would be unusual and might be related to an add-on

Rather than trying to decipher the files, I used the Refresh Firefox link on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/recovering-important-data-from-an-old-profile.

Thank you Pkshadow and jscher200 for your assistance
