After 57.0.4 update now I cannot connect to my Foscam cameras?
After the last update (57.0.4) I now cannot connect to my Foscam security cameras. What is the fix for this problem as I need to be able to connect to them. Does Mozilla have a solution for this or will I be forced to install Google Chrome. I need a solution ASAP. Please accept my thanks in advance. Garry

So what does FF have to do with the camera? And did you verify the security software wan't updated or something went wrong with it as well? Maybe the security system needs to update to work with the new Browser security to work and that is something you have to check with the software company your using or uninstall and reinstall the latest version of the software to see if it resolves the problem.
I have uninstalled the camera tool software and reinstalled it. Still will not work. I've talked to the camera tech folks and they said that Firefox removed some of the extensions which have caused this problem. They said to download Chrome because that should work. I downloaded Chrome and tried my cameras and they work. So it's a problem with Firefox/Mozilla and their last update. Looks like I'll have to continue with Chrome and part company with Firefox??? Thanks for the reply and I still hope that Mozilla can provide me with a solution that will work.
Hi Garry, what was the add-on needed to connect with the cameras? I'm assuming it's an extension. Incompatible extensions typically can be found on the Add-ons page here (either):
- Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
- "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
- type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return
In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. Then at the top of the panel, look for a "Show legacy extensions" link. These are the extensions the developer hasn't yet updated for Firefox 57+.
Most Chrome extensions can be converted to run in Firefox, and some can run in Firefox via an intermediary extension. If you want to try that, see:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/chrome-store-foxified/
Otherwise, you can just keep using Chrome for the camera until they convert their extension for Firefox, and do your other browsing in Firefox.
Hi jschner2000: First off, thank you for your reply and info. I don't know what extension was used. I contacted Foscam tech support and they didn't know either. They said that was something their developer would know. What they did say is that I could uninstall Firefox and then install version 52. That will work. However I don't want to use something that old as a person would probably be missing some security enhancements. As for this "legacy" extension/s well I don't have that option. The only extension I have is Ublock Origin. I'll try that link that you provided and see what happens. I like Firefox, but I need access to my cameras more.

According to that you'll need Internet Explorer or something called VMS software in Firefox 52 or later versions of Firefox.
Firefox 52 ESR will work for you, until like Aug 2018. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/
