On Jan 11 I received and email about the new Firefox so I downloaded it but it wouldn't install. I was having trouble with Firefox which started last week when I connected my PC to a projector for a slide presentation and It locked up my PC. I was using Firefox at the time it locked up so I assumed it corrupted my Firefox so I uninstalled the old Firefox and tried again. This time I got the following error "can not create temp folder archive". I tried turning off McAfee virus protection and firewall but still got error. I'm running Windows 10 and I've used Firefox for years without any problems.

That is a problem with 7-ZIP self extracting code that is used to compress the Firefox installer. The installer has a problem to extract all the files to a folder in the OS temp location (%TMP% or %TEMP%).

It is possible that security software (anti-virus, firewall) is causing the problem. Try to disable security software temporarily to see if that makes a difference.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support to see if that has effect in case security software is causing problems.
