How is it that Firefox is able to install successfully without admin privileges?

I noticed that another employee (without admin privileges) was able to install Firefox by canceling out of the UAC prompt to enter admin credentials - the installation just continued. How does this happen? It's concerning to me. Thanks,

I think that it installs itself in the userspace (not in default c:\program files), so it's not available for other users and admin rights are not needed.

Maybe the files end up in \AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files\
