Firefox crashes
Unable to open Firefox. Upon opening, immediately receive Crash Report, have tried multiple times. Have shut down computer and restarted. Have all other applications closed. Have tried to start in Safe Mode-- won't work. Would prefer not to uninstall / reinstall because I don't want to lose my bookmarks. Working from a MacBook Pro 2011, High Sierra 10.13.3

Hi, rescue your Profile :
See if you can make a new profile then get Firefox to run in the new one :
If works great : transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem. Never work with original files.

Though with the amount of issues in Crash Report I think it is a reinstall ..... Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Thank you so much for this guidance.
I did copy my old/default profile. I created a new profile-- and Firefox does work. However-- I cannot get it to open with my bookmarks and saved sites.
I followed the directions on Copy & Pasting from the older profile to the new profile. I selected just "places.sqlite" to copy & paste (following the directions to transfer just the minimal amount of files). All I really care about are saving my bookmarks and the folders I've created of saved sites. I've curated this over years, and really don't want to lose them.
Please advise how to transfer old saved sites into new profile.
Thank you!
Complicated as places sounds like it is corrupted. If Firefox worked there are things to do in and also add-0ns
without I only turned up this brain buster https://superuser.com/questions/111998/how-do-i-repair-a-corrupted-firefox-places-sqlite-database
Ok, so if Firefox is working you have been shuffling a copy of that file in ? As said never work with originals. Can try : [v57+] Places Maintenance is built into Firefox. Type about:support<enter> in the address bar. You will find Places Database near the bottom. Press the Verify Integrity button.
and Places Maintenance by MaK77
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/places-maintenance/ Places Maintenance
Allows to run Maintenance tasks on the database that drives Places, the bookmarks, and history module behind Firefox.
Open the Add-ons Manager. Locate the add-on and press the Options button. Then press Next on the bottom.
Oops, add-on no longer works for 57+ Sorry. Us built in.
You can try to restore the bookmarks from a JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
