Unable to connect with Firefox, Chrome unaffected. System set to no proxy already

Something to do with my windows install or networking settings on just this computer. Affects regardless of what network I use to connect to the internet over ethernet.

Chrome works fine, using google dns and have tried flush/register already. Some of my programs work fine but others do not, for example most non-offline installers fail, and multiplayer games as well. Things like browsing and remote access and some other apps do work. MBAM says clean.

Hi, you can type in search Troublershooters and run that. You can go to Network and delete the network and make a new one. In Win10 only (is same as SFC /Scannow almost, as uses local files)

  • Repair System Registry and Files

Find the Dos Prompt, Right Click or Powershell Click and Right Click and Run as Administrator then : Copy/Paste to Dos Window : DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth then hit Enter. Reboot when completed. Note : DISM goes up to Microsoft for new ones.

See if your Win10 behaves better

Since you have turned off send info to Mozilla within Firefox before posting, we have no inf including what version of Firefox. So if running 59.0.1 there appears to be an issue that only affects users who have turned off Cleartype Font rendering within their Windows Settings. So a workaround for the moment would either be to turn Cleartype back on or disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings Solution : Run Cleartype from the search bar or from search in Settings.

Since you say this is a windows issue you can go here : https://www.tenforums.com/ or https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/229/windows-10-support/ to solve Windows issues.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

I'm not sure what you mean by delete the network, but the dism command I am running now. I'm not sure what you are saying about my "send info" settings either, I did not post this with Firefox of course since it has no connection right now.

DISm and reboot did the trick, thanks so much.
