Until recently I had a pop-up, near identical to the warning when closing multiple tabs, except this was for opening multiple tabs. I've searched through the options in firefox, but to no avail. Thanks in advance.

Chosen solution

There is a warning that it could be slow opening a lot of pages at once if you selected more than 15 links/files to open. To adjust that setting:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button promising to be careful or accepting the risk.

(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste warn and pause while the list is filtered

  • The browser.tabs.warnOnOpen preference is true by default
  • The browser.tabs.maxOpenBeforeWarn preference is 15 by default, so if you try to open 16 or more links/files, that's when you get a warning, since it would be unusual to open so many at once

Was that what you were looking for?

Jscher2000, thank you very much. The preference of 15 by default was the issue I was having it seems. Is it possible to change that setting though?

Yes, double-click it and change 15 to whatever you like. Mine's on 5 because if I'm ever opening more than 5 things at once, it probably means I made a mistake (like clicking Open All in Tabs on a huge bookmarks folder).

Many thanks
