Received an email from Mozilla (rightly) thrashing Facebook for privacy and security breaches.

The issue is that my Firefox sign-on password is used as my first name in the email.

ie Dear <then my password>,

it is difficult to think of a more serious breach than this, and there is now way to directly report the problem to them - hope they look at this post.

I have checked all my account setting and belive these are correct

Are you talking about the Mozilla newsletter?

At the bottom is a link to stop the mailings. Use it. Then, if you still want to receive them, resubscribe.

Will give it a try, I still hope that someone from Mozilla actually acts on the complaint

HI jr357,

I would like to investigate this as a very serious matter. My name is Rachel and I work in the Mozilla office in California, can you please send me a copy of the email that you recieved so that I can make sure it is an official email.

Please forward it to guigs@mozilla.com.

Second I want to make sure that I can guide in the best way possible on the next steps. What I can say right away is please change your password of the account that you are using, and please make sure it is different from passwords you may use for other accounts.

Thank you for your patience, please also include the email address that you received the email from. Thank you, Rachel

PS. I will be opening up a bug in bugzilla for further investigation.
