In Android contacts I can edit the category for a phone number to anything I like. This is useful because if I have a company with a couple of different contacts I use the contacts name. This saves my having multiple entries for the same company. When I sync this with Thunderbird contacts the changes are reflected. The problem I have is when entering contacts directly in Thunderbird I can select one of the categories e.g. Work, home, work fax, other; but I can't I can't define my own category. Would it be possible to have this a s a feature?

Thanks for the suggestion. It's a nice extension but unfortunately doesn't solve the problem.
